Website Maintenance

Website maintenance that keeps your site secure, fast, and working.

A website isn’t something you build once and forget about. Plugins go out of date, security holes appear, pages break, and speed degrades — and every one of those problems costs you customers if it’s left unattended. We handle the upkeep that catches issues before your customers notice them.

The problem

Most small-business websites are being quietly neglected.

My site went down on a Friday evening. I found out on Monday morning when a customer mentioned it.
I hadn’t updated any plugins in over a year. Someone told me my site had been hacked and was sending spam.
My homepage still had last year’s pricing on it. A customer called to argue about a quote.
I noticed my site was loading slowly but had no idea what was causing it or who to ask.
A site that was built well doesn’t stay in good shape on its own. Updates stack up. Security patches get missed. Small technical faults that weren’t there at launch appear over time. None of it is dramatic until it is — and by the time it is, the damage is already done.
What we handle

Everything that keeps a site healthy, handled for you.

We take the ongoing upkeep of your site off your plate entirely. Every task that keeps a site healthy, secure, and working is included.

01

Core and plugin updates

WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates applied and tested on a regular schedule — not left to accumulate until something breaks.

02

Security monitoring and fixes

Ongoing monitoring for malware, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity. If something is detected, it’s dealt with before it becomes a problem your customers notice.

03

Regular backups

Automated backups of your site and database stored securely off-server. If something goes wrong, we restore it — fast.

04

Speed and performance checks

Regular checks against Core Web Vitals and page-speed benchmarks. If performance slips, we find the cause and fix it before it affects your rankings or your bounce rate.

05

Content updates

Need a service description updated, a price changed, a team member added, or a page removed? Send us the change and it gets done — no ticket systems, no development invoices, no waiting a week for a one-line edit.

06

Uptime monitoring

We monitor your site around the clock. If it goes down, we know before you do and we act on it immediately.

The process

How our website maintenance service works.

  1. Step 1

    Site audit

We go through your site before taking it on — plugins, security, speed, backups, and any outstanding technical issues. You get a clear picture of where things stand.

  2. Step 2

    Onboarding and setup

We set up monitoring, automated backups, and access to the tools we need to maintain the site properly. Everything is documented, so there are no gaps in how your site is managed.

  3. Step 3

    Ongoing maintenance

Core updates, plugin updates, security scans, speed checks, and backup verification run on a regular schedule. Nothing is left to accumulate.

  4. Step 4

    Content changes on request

Send us a content update and we turn it around quickly. No tickets, no waiting on a development queue, no invoice for a 10-minute task.

  5. Step 5

    Monthly report

A short summary each month covering what was updated, how the site is performing, and anything we flagged and addressed. Plain language, five minutes to read.

  6. Step 6

    Proactive recommendations

If we spot something that could be improved, we tell you. If a plugin becomes unsupported or a security issue appears, you hear about it from us first.

Why RunWeb

Why small businesses trust us with their maintenance.

We build sites like yours

Because we design and build websites in-house, we understand how small-business sites are structured and what they need to stay in good shape. We aren’t a generic support desk.

Content changes included

Most maintenance plans charge extra for content edits or put them in a separate queue. Ours includes them. If you need something changed, it gets done.

You know what’s happening

A short monthly report tells you what we did, how your site is performing, and anything worth paying attention to — no guessing about whether your retainer is doing anything.

No long contracts

Rolling monthly agreements. If you’re not getting value from the service, you’re free to leave. We keep clients by being useful every month, not by making it difficult to cancel.

Fast when something goes wrong

If your site goes down or something breaks, we’re on it — not in two to three business days, but as quickly as the situation requires.

Same-day replies, every time

For every message, every request, every question. Fast replies mean you’re never left wondering whether something you flagged has been noticed.

The difference

A maintained site and a neglected one look identical until something breaks.

What our clients say.

I’ve been working with RunWeb since 2019 for web design & SEO and it has been a pleasure. I have referred them to a dozen people and all of them have been very glad I made that recommendation.

RunWeb’s work is nothing but exceptional. Our site had a former web agency who was not responsive. RunWeb is extremely responsive and communicates their ideas and any issues that arise.

RunWeb can whip up a pretty impressive website in record time. They were very prompt in responding and kept us in the loop on what they needed and how long things would take.

FAQ

Website maintenance — your questions, answered.

What is included in website maintenance?+

Our plans cover plugin and core updates, security monitoring, automated backups, speed checks, uptime monitoring, content updates, and a monthly report. Everything your site needs to stay healthy, secure, and performing properly.

How often will you update my site?+

Plugin, theme, and core updates are applied on a regular schedule and tested before being pushed live. Security scans and speed checks run continuously. Content changes are turned around the same day.

What happens if my site gets hacked?+

We deal with it. Security monitoring is part of the service and most issues are caught before they cause visible damage. If a breach does occur, we clean the site, identify how it happened, and close the vulnerability.

Do content changes cost extra?+

No. Content updates are included in the plan. If you need a price updated, a new staff member added, a service description changed, or a page removed, send it through and it gets done.

What if my site goes down?+

We monitor uptime around the clock. If your site goes down, we’re notified immediately and act on it. You don’t find out from a customer on Monday morning.

Do you only maintain sites you’ve built?+

No. We maintain sites built by other agencies and developers too. We do an audit first so we understand what we’re working with before taking it on.

How are my backups stored?+

Backups are automated and stored off-server, so a problem with your hosting doesn’t affect your backup copy. We test restore capability regularly rather than assuming the backup works until we need it.

Will maintenance help my search rankings?+

Yes, indirectly. A fast, secure, technically sound site is one Google is more likely to rank. Core Web Vitals performance, uptime, and clean code are all signals that maintenance directly affects.

Is there a minimum contract length?+

No. Rolling monthly agreements with no minimum term and no exit fees. You stay because the service is worth it, not because leaving is complicated.

Your site is either being looked after or it isn’t. There’s no middle ground.

A neglected site doesn’t just get slower — it gets vulnerable. Tell us what you have and we’ll tell you where it stands and what it would take to keep it in proper shape.
