Website Redesign

A website redesign that fixes what’s actually holding your site back.

A site that looks outdated costs you customers. So does a site that looks fine but never generates enquiries. If your website is live but not working, the problem is rarely how it looks — it’s how it’s built, written, and structured.

The problem

Most redesigns fix the surface and leave the real problems untouched.

It looked great in the mockup. Three months later and I still haven’t had a single enquiry through it.
They updated the design but kept the same broken structure underneath. Nothing improved.
I paid for a redesign and got a new colour scheme. My rankings actually went down afterwards.
The agency handed it over and disappeared. I didn’t even get a walkthrough of how to use it.
A redesign that only changes how a site looks changes nothing that matters. Rankings, enquiries, and conversions come from structure, copy, and technical foundations. If those stay broken, a fresh coat of paint makes no difference.
What we do

What our website redesign service actually includes.

We don’t just update the visuals. We go back to the foundations and rebuild the parts that are stopping your site from performing.

01

Full site audit before anything changes

Traffic data, technical health, content gaps, broken links, and ranking history. We work out what went wrong and why before we plan a single fix.

02

New structure built around your customers

We remap the page hierarchy, internal linking, and content flow around how your customers navigate and what they’re looking for — not around what was convenient to build the first time.

03

Professional copywriting on every page

The copy on most small business sites was written in a hurry or borrowed from a competitor. We rewrite every page — clear, specific, and structured for readers and search engines at the same time.

04

SEO rebuilt from the ground up

Heading structure, keyword targeting, schema markup, metadata, canonical tags, and image optimisation. We don’t preserve the settings from a build that wasn’t ranking — we replace them with ones that will.

05

Mobile-first redevelopment

We build the new site mobile-first. Most of your visitors are on a phone, and the original build almost certainly wasn’t designed with that in mind.

06

AI and search visibility

Schema markup, FAQ blocks, and author attribution so your site can appear in Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, and direct answers — more visibility without additional ad spend.

Who this is for

For businesses whose current site is costing them customers.

We work with owners who have a site that’s live but not delivering — built years ago and never updated, handed over by an agency that disappeared, or redesigned once already without improving results.

The process

How we approach a website redesign.

  1. Step 1

    Audit and diagnosis

Technical health, content structure, keyword positioning, backlink profile, and traffic history. We identify what’s holding it back before recommending changes.

  2. Step 2

    Strategy and new structure

We map the new page structure, keyword targets, and content flow. You approve before a single design decision is made.

  3. Step 3

    Redesign

New layouts built for your business and your customers. You review, give feedback, and we refine until you’re happy.

  4. Step 4

    Copywriting

Every page is rewritten — headlines, body, calls-to-action, and meta descriptions. Written for your customers and structured for search.

  5. Step 5

    Redevelopment

Mobile-first build, clean code, minimal plugins. Tested across devices and browsers, speed-optimised, with SEO configured from the ground up.

  6. Step 6

    Launch and post-launch support

We launch the new site, monitor it through the first weeks, and stay available after go-live.

Why RunWeb

Why small businesses trust us with their redesign.

We find the problem first

We don’t start with the visuals. We start with an audit, so we know what went wrong and why before we change a single thing.

We write the copy

Most redesign agencies hand you a brief and expect you to fill it in. We write everything — clear, direct copy optimised for the right search terms.

No surprises on the invoice

We quote the full project upfront. No costs appearing mid-build. What we quote is what you pay.

SEO continuity built in

URLs, redirects, and ranking signals mapped before launch. A redesign should improve your rankings, not tank them.

Built in-house, maintained in-house

Because we design, write, and build everything ourselves, post-launch changes happen directly — no third-party developer in the loop.

Same-day replies, every time

You can reach us and get a response the same day, during the build and after it. Anyone who’s dealt with an agency that went quiet after the invoice was paid knows why this matters.

The difference

Most businesses we redesign for have already paid for one. It changed the wrong things.

Reviews

What our clients say.

I’ve been working with RunWeb since 2019 for web design & SEO and it has been a pleasure. I have referred them to a dozen people and all of them have been very glad I made that recommendation.

RunWeb’s work is nothing but exceptional. Our site had a former web agency who was not responsive. RunWeb is extremely responsive and communicates their ideas and any issues that arise.
Edward CantyCanty Financial Management
RunWeb can whip up a pretty impressive website in record time. They were very prompt in responding and kept us in the loop on what they needed and how long things would take.

Where you’re starting from

Partial update or full rebuild — we start from where you are.

Site needs updating but the foundations are solid?

If your structure is sound and the core build is clean, we can update the design, refresh the copy, and improve the SEO without starting from scratch. We’ll tell you straight which applies.

Site needs rebuilding from the ground up?

If your current site has structural problems, poor SEO foundations, or copy that was never written properly, a full rebuild is the faster route to results. We’ll tell you that too.

FAQ

Website redesign — your questions, answered.

How do I know if I need a redesign or just an update?+

If your site has structural problems, was never set up for SEO, or the copy was never properly written, a full redesign produces better results than surface-level updates. If the foundations are solid and the issue is mainly visual, an update may be enough. We review your site and give you a straight answer first.

Will a redesign affect my current search rankings?+

Done correctly, a redesign improves rankings over time. Done incorrectly, it can cause them to drop. We plan every redesign with SEO continuity in mind — URL structures, redirects, and ranking signals are carried over properly.

How long does a website redesign take?+

Most projects go from first call to live site in four to six weeks, depending on the size of the existing site and how quickly feedback comes through. We agree on a schedule at the start and stick to it.

Do I need to supply new content for the redesign?+

No. We write all the copy, and every page is rewritten from scratch. You only need to tell us what your business does and who your customers are.

What if the original developer locked me out or used a platform I can’t access?+

We handle that. Whether your site is on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or a custom build, we work with what exists or migrate everything to a better platform as part of the rebuild.

Can you fix specific parts of my site rather than rebuilding all of it?+

Yes. If the issue is isolated to certain pages, the mobile experience, or specific SEO problems, we scope the work accordingly. We review what you have first and recommend only what your situation needs.

Will the redesigned site be faster than my current one?+

In almost every case, yes. Slow sites are the result of poor build decisions — bloated themes, too many plugins, unoptimised images, and no attention paid to Core Web Vitals. We fix all of that as part of the rebuild.

Will I be able to manage the site myself after the redesign?+

Yes. We build every site so you can update basic content without needing a developer, and after launch we walk you through the CMS until you’re comfortable using it.

What happens to my domain and hosting during a redesign?+

Nothing changes on the live site until the new one is ready. We build in a staging environment, test everything, and only switch the live site over once you’ve approved the finished build.

Your current site has a ceiling. A rebuilt one doesn’t.

If enquiries aren’t coming through your website, the site is the problem. Tell us what you have and we’ll tell you exactly what it would take to fix it.
